When you look in your dictionary for definitions of emotions and feelings you'll see that the two words are practically synonymous. That's how we use them in our ordinary everyday speech. But when I use those words I use them in a metaphysical sense and in that regard they are very different. I've been rambling about the metaphysical differences between these two words for the last 8 years and I will now try to bring all that rambling together into a concise package that hopefully makes it crystal clear what the differences are and how understanding the differences can bring balance and harmony to our lives.

There is a very large spectrum of emotions and variations of emotions that humans experience. Fear, anger, guilt, jealousy, hate, conditional love, greed, lust, sexual arousal, curiosity, depression, ennui, contempt, victimhood, hysteria, defiance, and excitement are just a few emotions that come to mind. While there are many, many emotions, there are only two feelings. And those two feelings are joy and unconditional love.

One of the main differences between emotions and feelings is where they originate. All emotions originate within the physical embodiment. All feelings originate outside the physical embodiment. I'll get back to this in a moment.

We are bio-electro-chemical beings while we inhabit our bodies. Our bodies are producing chemical reactions constantly. If the body stopped producing chemical reactions it would cease to live. Every emotion we experience creates a chemical reaction in our bodies. We can say that every emotion is a chemical reaction. Being a chemical reaction, a bio-chemical body is needed for that emotion to be fully experienced. All emotions originate within our physical embodiments as a result of chemical reactions produced as a result of sensory and mental input. When we see a tornado coming right at us our bodies create a chemical reaction called fear which initiates action designed to protect ourselves from that threatening tornado. When we see someone provocatively posing nude a chemical reaction called sexual arousal is created within our emodiments which initiates action designed to propagate our species enabling us to always have new bodies to come into.

These are very basic examples of how emotions are chemical reactions occuring within our bodies. (And they show that there are built-in benefits to these chemical reactions occuring within the body.) Every time our bodies experience one of these emotions/chemical reactions a pheromone is produced and emitted. It's the natural result of that chemical reaction. Animals use pheromones to communicate (and we did once, too) and that is why animals can detect when we are in fear. It's because when we are in fear we are giving off fear pheromones as a result of the emotion/chemical reaction called fear being experienced within us.

Humans have the ability to "read" pheromones, too. It's called intuition and psychic ability. But we have been conditioned all our lives to ignore our intuition and psychic abilities and to instead use reasoning and other mental functions to translate all sensory input. But our bodies still receive pheromonal input so quite often our bodies are reacting one way while our noggins are reacting a different way. This creates stress on both the body and the noggin. This stress creates further chemical reactions and we end up with a hodge-podge of emotions and mental machinations that prevent us from receiving pure intuitive information.

When two humans get together to communicate with each other they are always communicating on two different levels. They are communicating pheromonally through emotion and they are communicating mentally through language. This dichotomy is the basis for most all of our problems interacting with each other. But this dichotomy is also a great challenge we have presented ourselves with in the process of evolving beyond an animalistic state. Eventually we will be able to bring this dichotomy into a harmonious balance. To do so we must become aware of our emotions and our intuition in order to find a balance with our cognitive noggin functions.

But I am in danger of getting way off track. I was showing that all emotions originate within the physical embodiment. Mental cognitive brain functions are also of the body since the noggin is part of the body. But then we also have the mind which is located in the bio-field just outside of the body. When the body's emotional functions and noggin functions are in balance and harmony then the mind becomes clear and can function without the discord emanating from a body in disharmony with its emotional and noggin functions.

But if all emotions originate within the physical embodiment then where do feelings originate? Feelings do not originate from within the physical body nor do they originate from our bio-field and mind. Our feelings originate from our Entity--or that part of us not in this physical dimensional reality. We can also say that all feelings originate from our Source. Remember, I said there are only two feelings--or feeling-tones--and they are joy and unconditional love. These two vibrational frequencies are being fed to us by our Source at all times. They are what keeps us alive. If our Source were to stop the feeding of these two vibrational frequencies for so much as a second we would cease to exist. And so would the Source! Luckily, Sources do not stop sourcing.

And what Sources source is feelings. Joy and unconditional love; that's what we are being fed non-stop by our Source. Feelings originate from our Source. They flow through our bio-field and into and through our bodies, giving us life. Our bio-electro-chemical bodies cannot live without feelings flowing through them from our Source.

Our biological bodies need chemical reactions to function and they need electricity to have life. Emotions are chemical and feelings are electrical. We need both in order to be alive and function. That's what makes us bio-electro-chemical.

Since feelings come from our Source we do not create them. Nor are they a reaction to anything. We do not have control over feeling-tone vibrations. They are flowing through us at all times no matter what we do. What we do have control over, though, is whether we choose to be aware of those feelings flowing through us and whether or not we choose to open up to them and embrace them and FEEL them. We can resist them or surrender to them. That is our ultimate choice.

Remember, I said there are only two feelings; joy and unconditional love. We are being inundated with joy and unconditional love from our Source at all times. To become aware of this and to surrender to it we become empowered beyond anything we'ver ever imagined. That's when we fully realize our divinity.

Most people are blissfully unaware of this Source material (feelings) flowing through us at all times. They are too preoccupied with emotional and mental functioning (which is usually in a state of discord). This discord creates resistance and blockage of the Source material (feelings) flowing through us. It can't block it completely (or we would cease to be) but it does deflect and transmute that energy so that it does not flow through us unimpeded. Disharmony creates resistance to the flow of that feeling energy and resistance causes friction which causes all sorts of unhealthy things such as emotional overload, disease, and aging.

For a healthy state of balance within our beings we would be running on approximately 52% electricity (feelings) and 48% chemical reactions (emotions). (With every body being unique and different, this is an approximation.) Most humans, though, are firing at 98% to 99.5% emotions and .5% to 2% feelings. We need both emotions and feelings to function but how well we function is determined by bringing those percentages into balance.

Our bodies PH balance is a microcosm of this. Emotions are acidic and feelings are alkaline. Of course our body's PH balance is affected by the foods we eat as well as our environment. But it is also highly influenced by whether we are in an emotional state or a feeling state--or rather by the balance between those two states. If our bodies were in an extremely acidic condition and we were to completely surrender to the feeling-tone vibrations of unconditional love and joy for 10 full minutes our body's PH Balance would immediately enter a state of balance for those 10 minutes--and stay there for hours and even days....until our emotions brought it back out of balance again. That's called epiphany and rapture. If we could completely surrender to the feeling-tone vibrations of unconditional love and joy on a near constant basis we would be able to walk through walls, walk on water, and turn gasoline into wine.

Of course most of us are just interested in living in balance and harmony and peace and happiness. The key to that is in opening up to the torrent of feeling (unconditional love and joy) that is constantly flowing through us. But instead we try to create feeling through emotion and we can't do that. We cannot create feeling; we can only surrender to it. And when we do our emotions are balanced out

Emotions are our chemical reactions to life. Feelings are what give us life.
